With over 12 years’ experience in building services design, Luke began his career as an engineer in manufacturing. This experience has given him both a passion and a strong understanding of what proper quality management is and how best to implement ensuring the best quality design and services to our clients.

Luke continually looks to develop and improve processes that will save time, money and effort. He says that in non-manufacturing industries, QMS can be seen as a tick box exercise to obtain a certification. However, it’s a philosophy to improve your service and business while keeping clients happy. Strong QMS philosophies have allowed companies such as Toyota, for example, to become world leaders in their industry. Knowing this, he applies the principles of QMS to his workflow, which benefits ADP, our clients, and our projects.

Whilst Luke is committed to delivering excellence on every project; he is also committed to delivering on ADPs’ vision of ‘creating great environments with great people’. He always looks to incorporate ADP’s sustainable design principles and building physics into his projects to help shape a building from the concept stage to ensure excellent environmental outcomes. These principles start with maximising passive design opportunities before exploring innovative technologies to supplement these features.

Luke has extensive knowledge of commercial buildings, mixed-use buildings, shopping centres, hotels and student accommodation buildings. A career highlight has been working on Bennetts Lane, a unique office building where the upper half of the building tiers back to allow balconies for each office level. Given the long shape of the building with the service core located at the far end, this presented various challenges for the services design.
