Julia is an experienced team leader, engineer, and project manager passionate about leading, managing, motivating, mentoring, and empowering people around her.

She is a great communicator with an inherent ability in the art of negotiation, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, which leads to positive outcomes on her projects.

Julia has extensive experience in planning and delivering a range of projects and programs that involve implementing cutting-edge technology. In addition, she is also very experienced in operating within large enterprise technology environments to deliver projects requiring complex and integrated solutions.

Her expertise includes rail, construction, water, and heavy industry, and she always works with safety and risk mitigation front of mind. She is highly experienced in planning, prioritising, resourcing, and scheduling project tasks to ensure deadlines are met, and high-quality work is delivered.

A key project was leading a team of engineers, project managers and site supervisors on several major projects for Metro Trains Melbourne. She was responsible for the operational technology both cyclical renewals and system upgrades.

One of Julia’s favourite projects was the Assisted Living Project with Summer Housing and Lend Lease; her functional design used technology to ensure that people with disabilities can live independent and autonomous lives.

It’s always been in Julia’s nature to give back to society. At university, she volunteered for several charitable and community organisations. Since then, Julia has donated her time to several industry committees, including Standards Australia, Engineers Australia, and Internet of Things Alliance Australia. She is currently a BICSI board director.

Julia has two wonderful daughters and is proud to be the mother, engineer, and leader she’s always aspired to be.  She is passionate about using her knowledge and experience to support and mentor young female engineers and show them that you can have it all.
