"It is our responsibility as engineers to create built environment solutions which are sustainable and ready for future technologies to ensure a positive legacy for future generations"

A creative mind, with an innate ability to problem solve, John has been passionate about design from a young age. During high school he aspired to be an electrician, then an architect and eventually landed in the building services engineering space presenting the opportunity to amalgamate his inspired technical and design skills.

John relocated to Melbourne from Queensland to join ADP in 2013 and follow his dream of working on some of the most sustainable and significant projects in Australia. Before this he worked with Queensland Department of Public Works, where he was heavily involved in the design and delivery of significant healthcare facilities in Queensland, some of which included, the Townsville Hospital Redevelopment, Thursday Island Chronic Disease Centre and Townsville Sub-Acute Care Facility.

Currently, John heads ADP’s Living sector, which encapsulates everything from residential, hotels and senior retirement living to student accommodation, Build-to-Rent or affordable housing. With technology as both a personal and professional passion, he is always looking to utilise the most advanced solutions to provide better, more efficient end-user experiences while future-proofing the development.

One of his favourite projects is GurnerTM’s, Saint Moritz in St. Kilda, a stunning residential waterside development with amenities offering 6 Star Hotel Living. For John, the successful collaboration across the stakeholders and project team to bring this aspirational and sustainable project to life is a great example ADP’s vision to inspire a better world through influence and design.
