After receiving approval by the City of Melbourne’s Future Melbourne Committee in September 2020, West Melbourne Waterfront is a new mixed-use, world-class community focused development that is set to start construction in 2021 Designed by Foster + Partners, Fender Katsalidis, OCULUS & Contour Consultants. The development will bring a new way to live, work & play to the banks Melbourne’s historic Maribyrnong River.

This landmark development is part of the Dynon Urban Renewal Precinct, supported by Plan Melbourne and the City of Melbourne’s Future Melbourne Committee.

Inspired by its surrounding environment of water & parklands, it will be a modern living landscape: a new neighbourhood with the natural gifts of air, light, and water.

Led by Perri Projects, West Melbourne Waterfront will consist of retail, residential, hospitality, commercial, and community use buildings and is set to transform West Melbourne.

The development will consist of retail, residential, hospitality, commercial, and community use buildings and is set to transform West Melbourne. The site occupies five parcels of land in West Melbourne and the new development will encompass footpaths, 800 meters of bike lanes as well as green lane-way with connections to the river promoting health and wellness amongst building occupants and the community.

It also benefits from access to South Kensington Station, direct vehicle access to CityLink via Dynon Road, and to Melbourne’s north, east, and west via CityLink.

With a strong focus on bioclimatic design, sustainability and wellbeing, our team is supporting the development using innovative approaches to increase human health and reduce operational and embodied carbon. This includes targeting net zero emissions; WELL Communities Platinum Rating; and minimum 7.5 Star average NatHERS ratings for dwellings as well as providing building services design.
